San Juan provincial power utility EPSE, created in 2004 by Argentina's San Juan provincial government, is responsible for the study, exploration, exploitation, industrialization and administration of the province's energy resources. EPSE is the owner of Cuesta del Viento (10.8MVA), Quebrada de Ullum (41MW) and Los Caracoles (144MW) hydroelectric plants and San Juan I photovoltaic plant (1,209 KWp). It is currently developing three hydro projects: Punta Negra (63MW), El Tambolar (77MW), and La Palca (37MW). In addition, it is developing the San Juan solar project that aims to manufacture solar photovoltaic panels in the province.
